Deconstruction Superintendent

Job Description

DPR Construction is seeking a Deconstruction (Demo) Superintendent with at least 10 years of experience in project execution for a self-perform general contractor or demolition contractor.

Superintendents will work closely with all members of the project team and supervise all craft employees. They will be responsible for the following:

• Oversee, manage, develop, and mentor foreman and craft personnel.
• Create schedules, perform regular updates, and advise team of impacts affecting safety and productivity with solutions to remedy.
• Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain relationships with GC team, subcontractors, owner/client, and other onsite stakeholders.
• Coordinate with respective project team to ensure proper notice, utility shut-downs/locating, and permits (811, AQMD, HazMat Surveys, etc.) are in-place prior to start of work.
• Lead DPR's injury-free environment safety program.
• Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource-loading in conjunction with DPR's self-perform demo work crews.
• Professionally represent DPR Self-Perform Demo Division and work closely with other Self-Perform Divisions and GC Team.
• Checking on jobs weekly at a minimum in person.
• Ensure that the tools/equipment are on a jobsite or called off and in good working condition.
• Working on manpower and assigning work to people, understands workers skills and weaknesses
• Keeping track of craft trainings, certifications, and targeting training for those who need it.
• Understand local union regulations and make sure that we are compliant with our work.
• Proficiently review drawing/plan sets to understand the scope of work and create a safe, efficient work demolition work plan.
• Work closely with estimating and project management team to ensure estimates and cost forecasting are accurate.

Qualifications

We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

• Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Effective participation in a team environment.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC or similar), and scheduling software (SmartSheets, Primavera or similar).
• 10+ years of experience as a commercial construction superintendent, preferably within DPR's core market projects. Bachelor's degree a plus but not required.
• A strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude.
• This position is salaried.
