About Smart Infrastructure - Electrification and Automation:

The Utility Systems & Solutions segment of Electrification and Automation (EA) offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for the Utility and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) markets. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. The product portfolio includes but is not limited to medium voltage switchgear (AIS & GIS), Outdoor Circuit Breakers, MV Control, Power Equipment Centers, Overhead distribution products, low voltage motor control centers, photovoltaic (PV) Inverters, and ancillary MV and LV products that are routinely part of complete electrical packaged solutions in substations, power plants, and renewable energy power generation. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today's and tomorrow's power grid!

We are looking for a Close-Out Project Manager. This position is a hybrid, located in Wendell, NC.

Role Description:

This Close-out Project Manager will be responsible for developing quick, high-level resolutions to our customers' nonconformance and warranty cases reported after equipment ships from the factory. This role will work within the Siemens SI EA business unit and will support products such as medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgears, transformers, e-houses and others.

  • ad high-level customer resolution of issues by orchestrating interactions between engineering, research and development, project management, sales, manufacturing and other departments
  • Track, expedite and manage multiple punch list items and warranty cases with competing priorities to accomplish timely closure
  • Work closely with field service teams and vendors to align materials, methods of correction and timely submission of field service reports
  • Review field service reports for comprehensive coverage of case data to provide data points that could assist in cost recovery and claim management
  • Offer proactive and detailed updates on Case status to internal and external collaborators
  • Follow and adhere to customer defined contractual timeline to respond to cases and provide daily/weekly updates
  • Engage proactively with Project Management, Engineering, Quality, Application Engineering, Logistics, Factories, and other teams
  • Work with our factories and quality teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Improve departmental processes by examining standard methodologies and seeking opportunities to improve the overall structure through efficiency improvements and other approaches
  • Offer regular updates to all collaborators throughout the correction process for the customer
  • Demonstrate ownership in driving resolution for our customers in a timely fashion and in addition, also performing resolution in the most cost-effective way to ensure visibility of after-delivery cost reduction for Siemens

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years in engineering of medium voltage power distribution equipment
  • 3+ years in field service of medium voltage power distribution equipment
  • Ability to interpret and communicate clear results to varying levels from executive management, PMO leadership as well as customers
  • Ability to travel up to 20% national with the possibility of international when applicable to resolve high profile customer issues
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of project management or customer service experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Master's degree
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly understand and communicate progress and status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with customer orientation and a clear growth mindset
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining organization and control
  • Experience with project management software tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera and proficiency with SAP or Salesforce
  • Ability to manage construction software like BIM, COMPASS, Procore, etc.

  • The pay range for this position is $60,340 - $103,440. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
