Position Summary:
As a Contract Administrator, you will play a key role in reviewing and negotiating sales agreements to ensure compliance with JWC's legal and commercial guidelines. You will support our sales and management teams by evaluating RFQs and proposals, preparing risk assessments, and managing our contract lifecycle system. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure sales contracts meet internal policies for processing, approval, signature, and documentation.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts to protect company interests.
- Negotiate terms related to payment, liability, indemnification, and performance obligations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations.
- Advise on contract terms for pre-bid proposals, RFQs, and inquiries.
- Prepare and present risk assessment reports with actionable recommendations.
- Participate in negotiations with customers, suppliers, and legal counsel.
- Support Legal Counsel with non-transactional matters such as warranty claims, dispute resolution, and trade compliance.
Education, Experience, & Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Law, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in contract administration.
- Proven ability to negotiate moderately to highly complex contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Desirable:
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or field service operations.
- Broad transactional law experience with strong contract drafting skills.
- Background in corporate or business law.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Decision Authority:
Job is fairly routine. Duties are performed with specific directions given and work is checked or verified visually on a frequent basis. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines.
