Description

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Specialist/Millwright to join our team. This critical role involves working across both indoor and outdoor environments, with a primary focus on ensuring operational efficiency by quickly responding to, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment failures.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in HVAC, machining, or general manufacturing, coupled with strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities. This position has a growth potential for the right candidate.

This is a first shift position, with hours from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Job Summary:

The Millwright will repair, maintain, and facilitate installation of industrial machines used in manufacturing and production operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper operation of industrial equipment.
  • Disassembles or dismantles machines.
  • Gathers and assembles parts for repairs or modifications based on blueprints.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs machines including when unexpected issues arise.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs on older machines.
  • Provides advice and recommendations to management concerning new machinery.
  • Plans and facilitates installation of new or refurbished machinery, which may include building platforms and foundations.
  • Helps conduct safety inspections of facilities.
  • Performs general facility maintenance.
  • Performs troubleshooting of mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
  • Assists maintenance technicians
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: Thorough and broad understanding of a variety of equipment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. Ability to use various hand tools. Ability to use micrometers, calipers and other measuring devices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Thorough understanding of safety practices, guidelines, rules, and laws. Must be self-motivated with strong time management skills.

  • Must have effective communication skills.
  • Must work well individually and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work safely.
  • Machining, welding and fabricating skills preferred.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent with 1 - 3 years in a similar role.

General maintenance experience preferred.

General repair knowledge preferred.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Visual acuity to properly inspect and modify large and detailed portions of machinery. Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines.
