3-shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:30pm - 6:30am

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and controls.

  • Install new electrical equipment and systems as needed.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.

  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and production staff to resolve electrical issues and improve plant efficiency overall.

  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including maintenance logs and repair reports.

  • Participate in the development of detailed preventive maintenance plan.

  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and system design.

  • Troubleshoot and modify programs on existing programmable controllers and write new programs for existing and new programmable computers.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as an industrial electrician.
  • Industrial electrical training/degree and experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Required: working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and components
  • Required: working knowledge of 12v-24v DC
  • Required: working knowledge of 480V systems
  • Required: working knowledge of single and 3-phase systems
  • Be able to obtain forklift and Verti-lift (scissor lift) license -inhouse training
  • Ability to troubleshoot ladder logic and make edits as required.
  • Self-motivated and strong drive for results.
  • Use simple mathematics.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb a ladder.
  • Able to work in areas that contain dust and starch particles.
  • Able to work in hot and humid conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing and/or food processing, quality standards, hygiene, work safety, etc. preferred.

Plant Overview:

  • Non-union plant employing 280 employees across 3 shifts.

  • Purchased in 1934 from Breyer's Ice Cream and began producing caramel in 1935.

  • Began producing Marshmallows and Marshmallow Creme in 1961 and Marbits (think dehydrated marshmallows found in cereal) in 1979.

  • Kendallville is the sole producer of all our product lines.
