We are looking for a Candidate with professional service company experience, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, or Interior Design, who is interested in being part of a growing and dynamic work environment. Qualifications for this position include the following: Experience in: General Accounting, Project Cost Accounting, Federal Tax Planning and Review, Revenue and Billing Management and Forecasting with exposure to integrating all Accounting Functions with Production, Operations and Project Scheduling. Legal Contract Review and Insurance and Legal Risk Management in an Architectural, Engineering, Interior Design or Professional Services company. Managing In-house Payroll experience. At least 20 years of Senior Supervisory/Management experience as a CFO, Assistant CFO, or Controller. Bachelor's Degree required and a CPA/CMA preferred. Excellent management and training skills required with an ability to think outside the box. Consulting experience helpful. This position requires a great amount of interaction with the Operational staff of the firm and an ability to consistently find solutions and improve both Financial and Operational processes. This is a hands-on proactive position.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Responsible for overseeing the General Accounting functions including preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements; annual tax returns, statistical reports, ensures maintenance and integrity of accounting systems, reviews and analyzes monthly operational results to identify and evaluate problem areas, and present solutions to management teamConducts Ad Hoc reviews and reportingResponsible for overseeing the preparation and reporting monthly financial statements Assists the CEO/President in the preparation of short term and long-range plans and annual budgets based on broad corporate goals and growth objectivesManage all aspects of Risk Management/Legal Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the firm and makes specific recommendations, which will result in operating and cost efficienciesPreparation/Review of revenue and cash forecastsExercises supervision over the maintenance of the firm's chart of accounts, assigns new classifications and cost centers as necessaryIs responsible for the correct and accurate accounting classification of all revenue, expenditures, fixed assetsReview of project proposals, AIA contracts, consultant contracts and legal filings to ensure appropriate business language and termsActs as immediate contact with the firms outside CPA's on accounting matters including tax planning and preparation of financials for annual tax filingsOversee the preparation of sales, payroll and other tax items as they ariseDirects the preparation of statistics for periodic and yearly financial statements, including the preparations of charts and graphs showing progress, conditions and results. Provide specific reporting to President, CFO, and Senior Management.Responsible for filing externally required reports and governmental filings Maintains relationships with various banking institutions for the maintenance of accountsResponsible for calculation of the overhead recovery and bill ratesEnsures that the responsibilities, authorities, expectations and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understoodEnsures that all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operationsManage, oversee, train and mentor staff who are responsible for AP, AR, and Payroll, Collections, Reconciliations, Cash Reporting and Project Cost AccountingOversees Accounting and Project Software Available to perform duties including attending meetings as appropriate during and outside of normal working hoursResponsible for implementation of company policies, procedures and standardsSupervise preparation of annual operating budget and variance reports for senior managementDevelop and implement financial controls to ensure the integrity of reported informationPerform operational analysis and financial forecastingNegotiation of all lending, benefits, insurance and purchase contractsTax analysis, reporting, and documentation to ensure proper tracking for maximizing tax savings & detailed audit trailCompany expense reduction and tax reduction strategiesProcess and Procedure Creation and ImprovementManage lien filings Manage company 401K programManage the obtaining and tracking of Professional Licensure for our companies and professional level employees for multistate workAssist in overseeing the implementation of a new accounting and project management softwareOther Preferred Qualifications:Min Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred but not required for the right candidate.
