Remote Overhead Crane Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated laborer to work alongside operators in a dynamic steel manufacturing environment. As a Remote Overhead Crane Operator, you will utilize an overhead crane to move and load various steel products, including sheets, bars, rods, and plates. You will start in one bay and receive comprehensive training across all three bays. Quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and tape measures are part of the role. Forklift experience is preferred but not mandatory. Additional responsibilities include assisting machine operators and performing general shop duties. Essential Skills Experience with overhead crane operation (single or double hoist). Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and tape measures. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform machine operating tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience is preferred. Comfortable being trained in multiple areas of work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Steger, Illinois. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
