Location: Decatur, IL
Schedule: 100% onsite, 40 hours a week, M-F 7am-3pm
Duration: 12-month contract- option to go internal
Pay Range: $45.66 - 51.94/hr. depending on benefits and experience
Typical task breakdown:
Provide on-site engineering factory support for electrical wiring and installation on Large Mining trucks built in Decatur, IL factory. Will also provide Creo model and print updates for factory build issues that arise as part of this support function. Will also track and report progress on factory issues being worked.
Work director and work assignments provided from Tucson Mining Center. Worker will have local mentor support in Decatur, IL from other team engineers.
Wheeled Products Engineering Electrical Installation Team for Large Mining Trucks designs and supports electrical harnessing, cables, and associated hardware for the mining trucks built in Decatur, IL. The core design team is located in Tucson, AZ, but require a factory support engineer located in Decatur, IL as described above.
Interaction with team:
Worker will come to factory, attend any relevant meetings for truck issues, walk the line and work with Manufacturing Engineer on any assembly issues that require a deviation or design change. Worker will then work with an engineering contact on making and releasing the required engineering changes, using Creo Parametric or ELD
Education & Experience Required:
Engineering Degree or Engineering Tech degree required, preferred Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. At least 5 years post-collegiate prior work experience in engineering related field.
Experience with 3D modeling software, Pro-E or Creo Parametric preferred.
Experience using Microsoft Office computer tools (Excel, Powerpoint)
Familiarity with electrical or hydraulic systems design
Technical Skills
Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.
Estimate time and cost to complete projects.
Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
Investigate and test vendors' and competitors' products.
Soft Skills
Clear communication in English, both verbal and written
Strong desire to learn and proactively ask questions, ability to work somewhat independently once trained, with minimal guidance.
