Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Project Team Leader, responsible for executing projects according to scope, schedule, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Take full responsibility for project outcomes and ensure accountability within the team.
  • Develop overall project execution plans, including communications, procurement, risk management, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate all operational duties associated with project execution, including design, procurement, assembly, shipment, and site support.
  • Monitor and control projects, including cost control, forecasting, scheduling, change management, and reporting.
  • Maintain timely and consistent communication with all stakeholders to ensure efficient workflows, and clearly communicate project expectations to align efforts and achieve goals.
  • Provide and encourage open, honest feedback to foster continuous improvement.
  • Generate project-based reports and status updates.
  • Proactively resolve problems and propose solutions to improve service efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage project financials, including reviewing budgets, controlling costs, forecasting revenue, and tracking invoices.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project teams, fostering accountability and positive action.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality projects.
  • Ensure all team members understand project details, deliverables, and customer expectations.
  • Manage the process of project completion, acceptance, and closure.
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Comply with Carmeuse Systems ISO requirements.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the mining or related industry.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or technical science (Mechanical, Industrial, or Process Engineering preferred).
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Integrity, self-awareness, courage, respect, compassion, and resilience.
  • Learning agility and the ability to influence, communicate vision, show gratitude, and collaborate effectively.
  • PMP certification is an asset.

Needed Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read engineering documents (e.g., P&IDs, mechanical and electrical drawings).
  • Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience executing projects in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong commercial understanding of engineering contracts and project management.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams, recognize high performance, and encourage creativity and risk-taking.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Project and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Physical Demands:

  • May experience tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
  • May deal with conflict and client relations issues.
  • Must manage frequent interruptions and multiple tasks daily.
  • Attention to detail and visual concentration required.
  • Moderate physical effort, including prolonged periods of sitting while using a computer.
  1. Work Environment:
    • Typical hours: 37.5 hours per week, with additional hours as required.
    • Travel is required.
