- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for all construction divisions (CSI format).
- Evaluate and incorporate constructability, logistics, and schedule impacts into estimates.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations.
- Collaborate with project teams to transition estimates into budgets and support project execution.
- Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking tools for future estimating efforts.
- Identify and assess risks and opportunities in project scopes and pricing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client-specific requirements.
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or clean room environments.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating, ProEst, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with LEED, GMP, and other regulatory standards.
- Experience in estimating for hospital renovations, biotech labs, clean rooms, and commercial office spaces.
- Working knowledge of MEP systems and their impact on cost and constructability.
- Experience with design-build and CM-at-Risk project delivery methods.
- PMP certification.
The work environment includes working from 7am to 4pm at sites located in Connecticut (Fairfield, Hartford, New Haven counties) and one in Poughkeepsie, NY. Work will be split between the company's headquarters in Brookfield and worksite locations.
