**Mid-Level Electrical Engineer - Renewables**
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented mid-level electrical engineer for a full-time position in our Renewables Transmission Department. With support from a team of experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the developer interconnection process and delivery of renewable energy onto the electrical grid. Responsibilities will range from interconnection application support through the detailed design of low to extra-high-voltage renewable collector substations to include one-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation layout, etc. The position will also include performing design calculations in accordance with industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc., assisting senior engineers with QA/QC design checks, assisting design engineers with design efforts for renewable collector substation physical and protection/control design.
This position will report to our Salt Lake City, Utah based Department Manager. The candidate has the option of office-based work in Salt Lake City, Billings, Boise or Denver. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of a currently established POWER office).
Responsibilities:
+ Perform detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.
+ One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
+ Occasional travel.
**Required Education/Experience:**
+ BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) or BSREE (BS Renewable Energy Engineering) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option.
+ Experience with IEEE/ANSI standards.
+ Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently.
+ The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
**Desired Education/Experience:**
+ Five years of experience in substation design as outlined above.
+ Experience in 15kV through 765kV substation design.
+ Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred.

Base Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations.
