Job Summary
Use consistent and accurate welding techniques to weld seals and maintain an inventory of this item.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Mig and Tig weld buildup to repair washed out or worn areas on control valves and components (Balls, Plugs, Discs, Shafts, etc.)
- Grind, sand, polish, valves and components back to factory specifications.
- Use mig bore welder to repair bonnets
- Weld diaphragms for sealed systems pressure transmitters using automated welding lathe
- Fabricate sealed systems per job orders
- Test sealed systems after fabrication with vacuum to ensure no leaks are present
- Build up stock or various parts for inventory (Seals, L brackets, Capsules, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 1+ years welding experience
- Working knowledge of might and tig welding
- Must be able to pass 2G weld certification
Required Skills and Attributes
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to weld various metals, mild steel, 316, Hastelloy, stellite alloy 6
- Operate mig and tig welders, drill press and various hand tools
- Operate oxy acetylene torch safely
- Keep up with inventory control of consumable welding and grinding items
- Fabricate carts, fixtures, and various other items
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to stand 6 - 8 hours per shift
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
