Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary Under general supervision of the
Veterans Home Commandant, the Buildings/Grounds Supervisor plans,
inspects and supervises field and facilities operations on the WVHUG
campus. The incumbent provides direction and hands-on support of
maintenance units, to ensure work is performed timely and in compliance
with Life Safety Codes and nursing home requirements; directly
supervises staff, performing the full range of civil services
supervisory functions; oversees purchasing functions; and tracks and
maintains the operational budget. Job Details This position works an
8-hour shift Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and
5:00 p.m. The exact schedule can be discussed at time of hire. The
position requires working weekends and holidays on a rotating basis and
on call as needed to meet WVHUG operational needs. The incumbent must
meet the requirements to operate a State of Wisconsin Fleet vehicle. Job
duties include bending, squatting, stooping and crawling; carrying
objects weighing up to 75 lbs.; climbing stairs and ladders; lifting,
moving, and installing objects using a two-man lift; performing heavy
lifting work; occasionally exerting more than 100 pounds of force to
move objects; and performing heavy manual labor. Due to the nature of
the positions, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an
offer of employment. Employment in this position is contingent upon
passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. A 12-month

equipment; and Leading and/or supervising staff; and/or Managing
