Site Laborer (3Month Contract)
Location: Milford, Ohio
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated EntryLevel Site Laborer to support our excavation and underground utility crews on a 3month contract. The ideal candidate is coachable, a strong team player, and eager to learn the ropes of site work. Previous exposure to underground utilities (water lines, storm drains, etc.) is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist equipment operators and skilled trades on excavation, trenching, and backfilling tasks.
Help prepare, clean, and maintain work areasremoving debris, setting up traffic control, and ensuring a safe environment.
Carry, load, and position materials, tools, and equipment as directed by supervisors.
Support utility installations by digging test holes, placing bedding material, and holding grade rods.
Follow instructions to mark out excavation limits, stake out trenches, and maintain proper trench safety practices.
Participate in daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and adhere to all PPE and site safety protocols.
Perform general site cleanup at the end of each shift.
Communicate openly with foremen and crew members regarding tool needs, hazards, or training opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
Some prior site work experience (even volunteer or parttime) demonstrating reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Coachable attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take direction.
Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support coworkers.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or familiarity with underground utilities (water mains, storm drains, sanitary sewers).
Basic knowledge of power tools (e.g., saws, drills) and hand tools (e.g., shovels, levels, pry bars).
OSHA 10Hour Construction Safety Certification.
Valid driver's license.
