Construction Project Executive

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Executive to lead and oversee large-scale K-12 education construction projects. This executive-level role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a background as a Construction Director, Vice President, or equivalent, who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for multiple K-12 school construction projects.
• Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring alignment with educational goals, budgets, and timelines.
• Lead multimillion-dollar project teams including project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors through all phases of construction.
• Oversee preconstruction planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Foster long-term client relationships and pursue new business opportunities in the education sector.
• Mentor and develop internal project leadership talent.

• 20+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in an executive or leadership role.
• Proven track record managing complex $50+ million projects from preconstruction through closeout, particularly in K-12 education projects.
• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Masters preferred).
• Deep knowledge of construction delivery methods including CM-at-Risk and Design-Bid-Build.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Experience or interest in sustainable school design.
• Familiarity with Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. public school systems and procurement processes.
• Passion for educational environments and community impact.

This position requires 100% in-office presence with travel to project sites.

The pay range for this position is $200000.00 - $230000.00/yr.
