A Maintenance Mechanic installs, repairs and maintains machinery, equipment and accessories as well as maintaining and repairing company facilities. This is a 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm.
Requirements
Perform routine preventative maintenance of machinery
Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine appropriate method for repair and identify repair parts needed.
Carry out required repairs of machines
Test repaired machinery to verify successful repair
Perform basic facility maintenance and repair, including but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, painting and occasional janitorial work in a timely fashion
Comply with company quality requirements
Operate a forklift when and as needed
Work overtime as required
Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED. Certificate in industrial technology or related field preferred
3+ years experience in a similar maintenance position, or as a millwright, including experience working with and repairing CNC machines, laser cutters, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems
TECHNICAL / FUNCTION SPECIFIC:
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Ability to read blueprints / schematics
Intermediate math and reading skills
Ability to install, evaluate and repair CNC machines and complex industrial equipment
Ability to install, evaluate and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Ability to safely and successfully work with and repair electrical systems
Ability to skillfully and safely operate a variety of tools and equipment including, but not limited to, welders, grinders, multimeters, drill presses, saws and powered industrial equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts
Basic Computer skills sufficient to use job-related programs and systems
BEHAVORIAL:
Willingness and ability to follow all preventative maintenance and repair procedures and company policies
Attention to detail
Concern for quality, accuracy and safety
Ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
Positive attitude and ability to work well with others, including peers, supervisors, executive management and outside vendors, representatives and visitors when called upon
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Motor skills sufficient to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery
Ability to stand and/or walk for majority of scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required
Using proper lifting techniques, ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes
Ability and willingness to work overtime, including other shifts and weekends, as required per the needs of the business.
