Overview We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our stevedoring operations team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of equipment, including forklifts, sweepers, skid steers, genie lifts, front-end loaders, track mobiles, excavators, and ship loaders. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment within our maritime facilities. Responsibilities Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, sweepers, skid steers, genie lifts, front-end loaders, track mobiles, excavators, and ship loaders in compliance with company safety standards and regulations. Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials and cargo to designated areas, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on all equipment, identifying any mechanical issues and reporting them to the maintenance team. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety hazards immediately. Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation and cleanup, including sweeping and debris removal to maintain a safe and orderly work environment. Coordination: Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and ensure efficient operations. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery, preferably in a maritime or industrial setting. Licenses: Valid driver's license and relevant equipment operation certifications (e.g., forklift operator, excavator operator)preferred. Skills: Proficient in operating a variety of heavy equipment in a maritime operation. Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
