Job Title: Estimator
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced estimator to join our team and support our growing Commercial Shading division. You will play a crucial role in assembling bid packages to present to clients and work closely with the lead estimator to gather necessary information. You will be involved in reading plans and creating comprehensive packages for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Compile bid packages to send to clients.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with electrical contractors.
- Collaborate with the lead estimator to assist in information gathering.
- Utilize Excel-based estimating software to manage bids.
- Read and interpret plans to develop detailed packages.
- Provide document support to project managers and estimators.
- Understand and apply preconstruction knowledge and processes.
Essential Skills
- Experience in estimation and construction settings.
- Proficiency in estimating software similar to general contractor tools.
- Strong skills in bidding, project control, and managing change orders.
- Ability to create proposals and handle preconstruction activities.
- Skilled in blueprint reading and understanding construction documents.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with electrical components and Procore.
- Ability to perform take-offs and provide estimating support.
Work Environment
This role is based in a small, newly renovated, clean, and professional office environment. After becoming familiar with the role, generally within 90 days, you will have the opportunity to work remotely for up to 25 days. The office offers a collaborative atmosphere where technology and modern facilities support your work.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $34.00/hr.
