Welder and Fabricator Job Description This role operates within a steel bending and fabrication metal shop, primarily focusing on structural steel projects using carbon steel. Occasionally, you will engage in projects involving different metals and welding processes. We seek a MIG and TIG welder interested in a long-term position with growth opportunities. Responsibilities Perform welding tasks using MIG and TIG processes on various metals. Collaborate on structural steel projects, ensuring precision and quality. Interpret and work from blueprints to execute fabrication tasks. Utilize shears, grinders, and torches efficiently in the shop. Maintain a high standard of safety and adhere to AWS guidelines. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding with 3+ years of experience. Ability to perform basic shop tasks in an industrial metal setting. Experience in structural steel fabrication. Additional Skills & Qualifications Possession of or ability to obtain 6g Certification. Willingness to join Local 516 Union after 180 days of employment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates within an industrial metal bending and fabrication shop. The day shift runs from either 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The environment includes weld testing in overhead, horizontal, vertical, and flat positions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, Oregon. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
