Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery
(much of which is equipped with GPS) such as sprayer, air drill,
planter, backhoe, etc. to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant,
cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as soybeans, rice; Record
information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Direct
and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops; Participate in
the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of
crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers;
Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment;
Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment including
portable pipes, ditch systems, and center pivot; Inform farm managers of
crop progress; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load
crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities
such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Feel plants\' leaves and
note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease;
Maintain inventory; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter
or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Weigh
containers and record weights and identifying information; Guide
products on conveyors to regulate\
flow through machines, discard rotten items; Position boxes/bags at ends
of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers. Must
speak and understand English.
In view of the statutorily established basic function of the ES as a
no-fee labor exchange, that is, as a forum for bringing together
employers and job seekers, neither the ETA nor the SWAs are guarantors
of the accuracy or truthfulness of information contained on job orders
submitted by employers. Nor does any job order accepted or recruited
upon by the ES constitute a contractual job offer to which the ETA or a
SWA is in any way a party
