Design Director (Accessories) - Walmart
Our client, a leading fashion and home company, is looking for a Design Director (Accessories) - Walmart to join their team in NYC!
Responsibilities:
-Lead the design and product development of accessories collections tailored to Walmart's -customer profile, including handbags, small leather goods, and seasonal items.
-Interpret Walmart's private label brand direction and customer insights into commercially -viable, trend-right products.
-Create and present seasonal trend direction, color palettes, and concept boards aligned -with Walmart's market needs and price points.
-Oversee the full design lifecycle from ideation through production - including sketching, t-ech packs, material sourcing, sampling, and approvals.
-Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, sales, sourcing, and technical design to -ensure product alignment with cost, calendar, and margin requirements.
-Manage and mentor a team of designers and assistant designers, ensuring creative -consistency and strong execution across all categories.
-Monitor sales performance and incorporate data-driven insights into future design -strategies.
-Stay current on fashion, retail, and accessory market trends to ensure Walmart collections remain fresh and competitive.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Accessory Design, or related field.
-8+ years of experience in design
-Walmart experience
-Exceptional understanding of the accessories market including materials, construction, and -cost engineering.
-Proven ability to manage design calendars and hit development deadlines within a fast--paced environment.
-Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), PLM systems, and Microsoft -Office.
-Strong presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate with buyers and cross-f-unctional teams.
-Creative, trend-savvy, and detail-oriented with a commercial mindset.
