QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Finance, Real Estate or a related field; or High School diploma/GED and four (4) additional years of related experience.

Two (2) years of experience in real estate appraisal, real estate sales, real estate title examination or right-of-way acquisition.

Licenses or Certifications

Florida real estate sales or broker's license.

Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities

Provides technical assistance to Property Broker by researching and reviewing property ownership and titles, market data, county records, and other real estate related documents or records.

Acts as a point of contact to the public with real estate questions, responds to citizen inquiries and concerns relating to impact of citywide projects; establishes and maintains effective work relationships with other employees, property owners and the general public.

Meets with property owners to review project plans, explain appraisal process, eminent domain process, City's acquisition process, City policies and makes full presentations of the City's "Fair Market Value" offers, including alternate offers as approved by the Property Broker.

Studies right-of-way plans, construction plans and other materials to determine exactly what property interests the City needs to acquire and how it will be acquired from the property owner.

Advises various City Departments on land acquisition strategies, projected costs, and legal implications; identifies and recommends properties to purchase for City projects.
