Job Summary: Otak, Inc. is excited to announce an opportunity for a talented Senior Structural Engineer to join our Front Range team! This position offers a hybrid schedule for candidates residing in Colorado, with the flexibility to work remotely up to four days per week and one day in the office. The primary duties of this role include serving as a technical expert in engineering evaluation and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects, performing structural planning, and demonstrating a proven background of technical savviness on these types of projects. Additional duties include project management, business development, and supervising junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks.
Occasional travel to client sites or Otak offices may be required based on project or business needs. This position is a top priority for Otak, and if you are located outside the area and interested in relocating for this opportunity, relocation assistance will be provided.
What You'll Do:
Act as Project Manager and Lead Engineer for the development of vehicular and pedestrian bridge projects, including new builds, full replacements, and structural rehabilitations.
Oversee the preparation of construction plans using AutoCAD and/or OpenRoads.
Prepare specifications, cost estimates, and construction support services.
Perform bridge inspections and write repair recommendation reports.
Perform bridge load ratings.
Design retaining walls in conjunction with bridge projects, transportation projects, or as stand-alone projects.
Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision.
Assist in assigning duties and schedules to team members.
Participate in and support the preparation of proposals, project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Participate in business development by building and maintaining strong client relationships.
What You'll Bring:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer.
10+ years of proven experience in all aspects of bridge and structural engineering, as well as experience with CDOT and AASHTO standards.
Solid client service and business development skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, current bridge and structural software applications, and bridge management applications.
Demonstrated leadership skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with various teams throughout the organization.
