Role Overview:
Provide project leadership for new product introductions, product enhancements, and capital expenditures. Develop and implement tooling designs that will support all areas of production, (machining and assembly) to perform consistently and efficiently.
Work Environment: University Park, IL
Key Responsibilities:
Proficiency in operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and using hand tools.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and make basic repairs to prevent downtime and maintain optimal performance.
Evaluate manufacturing processes; apply knowledge of fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; to improve manufacturing process.
Develop routings, standard work, procedures and illustrations.
Provide finalized details for manufacturing assembly costs for new product quotes.
Improve manufacturing efficiency using Lean techniques.
Support design engineering requests and document all engineering changes
Critical Competencies for Success:
Required: HS diploma or GED.
Effective communication skills (written, oral, and listening). Ability to manage communications with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
Ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions/recommendations. Can interpret an extensive variety of complex technical instructions in mathematical or illustrative form and work with information that is both abstract and variable.
Working knowledge of metal cutting, forming processes and CNC control.
Familiar with SQC methods and concepts.
Experience in handling projects through all phases and disciplines of manufacturing engineering.
Experience in machine control systems.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
Working Knowledge of 3D CAD and solid Modeling.
Pay range: Minimum $43,000 - maximum $59,000 annually
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
Bonus eligibility: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from base salary.
