As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for driving to the job site, inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to the construction fleet. Role Expectations and Competencies
  • Driving to the job site.
  • Inspecting trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
  • Diagnosing faults
  • Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
  • Repairing damaged equipment parts.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.
  • Performing major repair work when necessary.
  • Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.
  • Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
  • During lag times helping others on various projects.
  • On occasions will be required to drive Commercial Trucks.
Perform other related duties as needed. Qualifications
  • Proven work experience working with heavy machinery.
  • Able to troubleshoot issues on the job site.
  • Experience operating tools and construction equipment.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Overnight travel is required.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily completed in an outdoor environment. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
  • The project team and/or team member may need to move to other projected work geographic locations, as necessary.
