Job Description:

Responsible for assisting crew with tasks as required to perform underground construction installation and repair projects, i.e.:
material loading and unloading, equipment loading and unloading, hand digging, gathering and assembling material required to complete tasks at multiple locations, install conduits cables, distribution equipment and digging equipment operation. Not qualified for unsupervised energized work. Position is 5 day work week, 40-50 hours and on call as needed, travel may also be
required. May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be able to operate track hoes, trenchers and possibly rubber-tire backhoes. Minimum 3 yr. experience required. If not certified, will be required to attend certification courses. Position requires digging to expose faulted or failed equipment or for
installation of new equipment. Requires basic skills in math. Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must follow all safe work practices. Based on the nature of work at Standard Utility, even if not driving company vehicles, all employees are required to have a valid Texas Driver License in good standing throughout their employment with us.

Preferred Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional formal or occupational education focused on electrical services and
construction is helpful. State wide travel preferable. Valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card Preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day and work unpredictable hours including weekends and holidays as needed, standing and walking for extensive period of time on various uneven surfaces. This position may require performing activities including but not limited to stoop, crawl, forward bend, squat and bend at the knees and waist, grasping and reaching,
must be able to work in narrow and confined areas, must be able to lift tools, equipment and material up to and including 50 pounds utilizing upper body force. This position requires working outdoors in all-weather conditions.
