Aluminum Tig Welder Night Shift (1-2 years' experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and setup instructions for aluminum TIG welding.
  • Weld aluminum assemblies of various sizes and complexities to customer specifications using the GTAW process.
  • Perform TIG welding in multiple positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
  • Inspect welded joints, surfaces, and components to identify potential weld defects or inconsistencies.
  • Follow all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of welding equipment.
  • Perform daily and scheduled maintenance on TIG welding equipment and workstations.
  • Maintain welding tools, torches, tungsten, and shielding gas equipment in clean, serviceable condition.
  • Keep a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with team members and leads regarding safety, quality, or equipment concerns.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, welding symbols, and process specifications specific to aluminum TIG welding.
  • Familiarity with TIG welding tools and aluminum-specific techniques (e.g., cleanliness, heat control, filler selection).
  • Knowledge of safety and PPE standards.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy components.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on weld appearance and integrity.
  • ANSI Z87 compliant welding helmet (auto-darkening preferred).
  • Participate in daily team huddles and collaborate on shift goals.
  • Provide support to shift leads and help mentor fellow welders in safe and efficient TIG welding practices.
  • TIG welding experience with aluminum (required); additional experience with stainless steel a plus.
  • Motivated to grow and take on new responsibilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.
Qualifications / Skills:
  • Ability to read labels, follow safety guidelines, and understand process documents.
  • Willingness to learn basic computer systems for job tracking and communication.
  • Competence in basic math, including fraction/decimal conversions and measuring.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to safety and craftsmanship.
  • Understanding of TIG weld quality standards, including cleanliness, porosity, penetration, and fusion.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and contribute positively in a team setting.
  • Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, weld gauges, and tape measures.
  • Capable of fabricating aluminum assemblies both with and without fixtures.
  • Willingness to learn and operate cranes and lifts if required.

$20.50 - $26.50 per hour

plus, a $ 2.00 shift premium
