Maintenance Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic Technician to join our team. This role involves troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess experience in electro-mechanics, particularly with 3 phase 480V electrical systems, controls ladder logic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance programs. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair failures of production and facilities equipment. Ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine solutions using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs. Collaborate with production associates and management to solve and correct production issues. Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble. Assist with planning/scheduling and storeroom staff for CMMS tracking: work orders, parts, purchase requisitions. Fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment to remove defective parts. Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate repetitive failures. Use the SAP Work Order system to initiate purchase orders for parts and machines and document hours worked. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling, and packaging production equipment. Weld, perform sheet metal work, and employ basic shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools). Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings. Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals. Essential Skills Minimum of three years of experience in repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment. Experience with control panels, PLCs, lift systems, conveyor shaft, motor and bearing replacement. Technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, data acquisition. Ability to work multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining professional demeanor with customers and co-workers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000. Understanding of control system design and network communication interfaces. Experience in food and beverage manufacturing industry is a plus but not required. Welding and heavy equipment experience. Why Work Here? The position requires working on the 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.50 - $33.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
