JOB DESCRIPTION:
Design, develop, modify, and evaluate options and make complex design recommendations for product development or enhancement.
Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
Prepare reports and technical specifications.
Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements.
Review internal/customer specifications and develop comprehensive design proposals for a variety of electronic assemblies.
Produce CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings from concept sketches and full production documentation.
Provide technical support to internal company departments such as quality, manufacturing, product management, and purchasing.
Design and support any production processing hardware, tooling and fixturing required to efficiently and safely produce new products.
Design and support new production test fixturing.
Prepare procedures (assembly, testing, qualification, etc.) and perform stress analysis for products and materials.
Work with various agency and third party labs to ensure compliance with applicable standards and work with BOM creation for mechanical assemblies.
20% domestic and international travel required.
This position requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, plus 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related occupation.
Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with:
(1) Designing, developing and modifying engineering practices for product development or enhancements; (2) Planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes; (3) Analyzing data; such as material properties, product cost, and structural and thermal simulation with CAE software; (4) Conducting experimental testing, drop testing, ingress protection, thermal testing, and assembly process testing and validation; and (5) Reading CAD drawings, creating 3D CAD model for both Parts and assemblies, 2D Drawings, and tolerance stack up analysis.
RATE OF PAY: $77,106 per year
