In This Role, You Will:

Responsible for specific communication, tracking, and project coordination activities for multiple assigned projects. This role is a hybrid of business analyst and project management involving project requirements gathering, defining workflow, identifying resources, coordination of activities and tracking progress across Mariner Finance IT Operations, vendors and other functional areas as needed. The position is integral to successful execution of technology projects to include monitoring and reporting on the results of work efforts, ensuring efficiency of project meetings, ongoing communications regarding project activities and status, creating project documentation, and guiding outcomes that support the required project deliverables. E nsure that projects are planned and executed in a manner consistent with company strategy, commitments, goals, and standards. Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Lead multiple large-scale and complex projects. Be accountable for the quality of the results, timely delivery, and the management of scope, schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction of the given projects.
  • Utilize project management tools to track project variables and to provide project reporting and control activities.
  • Provide timely project status reporting and communications.
  • Conduct project team meetings appropriately elevating issues of scope, schedule, cost, and customization to management.
  • Work with business users, product owners, and IT team to ensure that project scope and priorities are fully defined, that exclusions from scope are identified, and that business and technical assumptions and constraints are documented.
  • Consult with stakeholders to elicit and model requirements, verify requirements quality, validate requirements accuracy, and ensure that development teams have excellent, stable requirements to build software from.
  • Develop and documents project plans and schedules identifying all tasks necessary to bring the project to fruition. Assign realistic start and end dates to each task and oversees the activities of iterative delivery self-managed development teams and/or external partners as appropriate.
  • Work closely with the IT Operations team to optimize the project approach.
  • Identify skills required to support project activities. Work with the appropriate managers to identify resources with appropriate skills for project activities. Coordinate project resources, including staff and contractors, within a matrix environment.
  • Drive both project success and client satisfaction by communicating flawlessly, delivering to commitments, recognizing and managing risks and issues, aligning clients and teams to best practices, solving problems, encouraging innovation, and providing thought leadership.
  • Manage project change control procedures. Identify project risks and develop plans to assess, manage, track, report, escalate, and mitigate them.
  • Create supporting technical and functional documentation and provide support for deployed solutions.
  • Explain tasks and processes in a clear and concise manner that can be consumed and understood to non-technical business associates.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of policies and procedures used by the team to enforce industry best practices.
  • Cultivate business relationships with stakeholders, leading to partnership and collaboration around requirements and risks. Communicate effectively with clients to identify business needs and manage expectations.
  • Mentor team members in aspects of Project Management as well as those of a Business Analyst. Work with more junior team members to get them up to speed on our product catalog and our SDLC.
  • Act as one of the primary liaisons between the IT Operations team and the business stakeholders. Develop relationships and partnerships with the stakeholders and facilitate training sessions and communication with users.
  • Utilize project management tools to generate simple ad hoc reports related to data contained in projects being managed.
  • Assist in supporting infrastructure, business applications, and systems, including interacting with end users to resolve issues.
  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or related field; additional, applicable years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience leading projects in IT Operations and Infrastructure, with at least three (3) years of cross functional project management experience (full project life-cycles).
  • Strong knowledge of IT Operations, Infrastructure and ITIL.
  • Strong experience with Wrike or similar Project Management tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Visio.
  • Desire and ability to learn emerging technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, service dealers, customers, and all levels of company staff.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project administration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines with both local and remote staff.
  • Highly-motivated self-starter with strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Consumer lending/financial services experience.
  • Prior IT Operations Management experience.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
