Lumberyard Foreman A local, family owned and operated, independent retailer in the Flathead Valley is hiring a Lumberyard Foreman. More than just a business, this company is proud to be active in the community giving back and supporting the well-being of neighbors and their employees.As a Lumberyard Foreman, you are responsible for overseeing all yard operations, including supervising staff, managing equipment use and maintenance, coordinating truck schedules with dispatch, receiving deliveries, and maintaining a clean, organized yard. You ensure proper loading and unloading of customer, company, and supplier trucks, as well as the correct storage of materials. You lead and develop a strong yard team, motivating employees to meet company goals and deliver excellent customer service.Why You Want This Position: Competitive Wage: $60,000 to $70,000/year, depending on experiencePaid time off and six paid holidays for qualifying employees Health care options for employees and qualifying dependents Discounted store purchasesEssential Functions and Duties: Oversee Yard Operations: Ensure accurate order pulling, loading, equipment safety, and adherence to company policies for outgoing materials and sales ticketsInventory & Stock Management: Maintain accurate inventory, report stock issues promptly, and supervise timely inventory counts and proper stock rotationTeam Supervision: Manage yard personnel schedules, approve timecards, coordinate training, provide performance feedback, and ensure safety complianceCustomer Service: Supervise yard interactions to ensure customer satisfaction, address complaints promptly, and identify sales opportunitiesFacility Maintenance: Keep yard and warehouse clean and organized; ensure machinery, vehicles, and equipment are safe and properly maintainedCoordination & Communication: Work with sales and other departments to ensure smooth operations, and report returns or issues in a timely mannerQualifications: Understands equipment capacity and safe loading techniquesKnowledgeable about the local marketDemonstrates strong customer service skillsMaintains a positive attitudeEffectively manages time and stays organizedFollows all safety guidelines and company policiesGet in touch!
