Journeyman Electrician Job Description As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment to ensure continuous production. You will execute regular preventive maintenance plans and modify equipment as needed, with a focus on PLC controls-related work. You will also perform technical or electrical work to troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Additionally, you will coordinate with outside sources to schedule maintenance for more complex issues, track and document repairs, and complete additional projects as assigned. This position also involves performing physical tasks such as lifting, climbing ladders, and assembling large and small part assemblies and components. Computer skills with tablets to review work orders, chats, and all communication. 5 years of previous industrial facility maintenance experience. Comfortable performing only 30% electrical work weekly. Ability to perform exterior maintenance and work comfortably at heights. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in conduit work, troubleshooting, wiring, schematic reading, installation, cable repair, and wire pulling. Skills in plumbing, blueprint reading, drywall finishing, service, and switchgear. Journeyman license and facility maintenance experience. Willingness to learn about 5S3R Cleaning Standards. Candidates need steel toes and their own basic hand tools. The facility is a multi-million square foot industrial space, where you will work independently or in groups on projects throughout. Typical days involve walking the facility to check for obvious fixes, maintaining work orders, assisting maintenance electricians, and working with HVAC technicians to fix mechanical issues both interior and exterior, which may involve getting on the roof.
