Summary
The BIM Coordinator is a management role responsible for overseeing B&Ds implementation of BIM and related technology. The position oversees VDC/BIM management tasks for design projects and facilitates the development and maintenance of CAD and BIM infrastructure. This position oversees the BIM team for their designated area and utilizes Revit and other software to accurately create and develop well-coordinated sets of structural drawings. These drawings contain plans and details of 3D models for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing raceways, fittings, piping, and pathways that are extracted from 2d drawings or building scans. This position provides the opportunity to utilize Architectural knowledge with strong drafting skills to produce construction documentation and BIM models. The role will work with other trades to detect clashes in proposed routing before installation, utilizing Navisworks, and other software. They will have the opportunity to lead BIM Modelers and Detailers, train and assist them, and lead the overall BIM efforts.

Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of BIM/VDC supporting software
Research new BIM/VDC related software that may be needed or improve systems
Provide guidance, motivation, and leadership to the BIM team
Responsible for adhering to B&D and industry best standards, processes, procedures, and making sure the team follows those guidelines
Look for efficiencies and procedural improvements in the companies BIM procedures
Provide BIM training and mentoring to team
Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops on behalf of the company to transfer knowledge internally
Read and understand 2D drawings and specifications along with architecture and mechanical and electrical systems, apply this knowledge to 3D modeling
Ability to demonstrate an advanced understanding of accurate drafting methods, layering, X-References, dimensioning, model space, paper space, viewports, and scaling
Demonstrate basic Revit MEP tools such as the Project Browser, Properties, Type Selector, Conduit, and Cable Tray, and inserting a verity of family types
An understanding of creating families and manipulating of parameters and schedules is a plus
Capable of taking the lead in importing different trade files and performing collision control services
Represents B&D in BIM Coordination meetings with other trades and the customer
Capable of analyzing and detecting clashes and issues in all trade families
Update models to reflect as-built conditions, produce accurate and timely 3D modeling
output and spool drawings for field installation and prefabrication
Knowledgeable of the needs and requirements of B&Ds Preconstruction, and assists in identifying scopes that can be modeled, prefabricated, and prepared for field installation
Experience in using Microsoft Office products

Develop 3D Revit models that can be used to produce a set of accurate and well-coordinated structural construction documents
Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
The job requires advanced computer knowledge and experience, along with advanced critical thinking skills

Education and Experience
Minimum 3 years AutoCAD and REVIT experience with advanced training/experience in current AutoCAD software
Minimum of one-year management experience
Bachelor's or college degree in CAD or drafting studies is preferred
Relevant work experience may substitute for the degree
