SUPERINTENDENT - COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION

Construction Background & Experience within Schools, Higher Education, Municipality Preferred

The role of the Superintendent is to oversee the actions and construction activities of the project worksite. They will provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction on large scale commercial projects in the Metro area. The candidate will be responsible for all onsite activities of a construction project ranging from start-up to punch-out. Superintendent will work in-collaboration with the Project/Construction Manager to ensure project deadlines are met. Perform the following responsibilities. OTHER PROJECTS include the K-12, Higher Education, Municipal, Public Safety, and Senior Living sectors (also industrial, energy).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Understand and maintain project schedule and deadlines• Liaison/collaborate with on-site work crew, Project/Construction Manager and Owner/Client• Manage work-site activities to meet project schedule and deadlines• Ensure quality workmanship (in-conjunction with Project/Construction Manager)• Ensure work-site safety (in-conjunction with Project/Construction Manager)• Track, maintain and report project progress daily• Coordinate work-site materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers• Lead and manage work-site construction crew• Ensure work-site construction crew meets daily, weekly, monthly project deadlines• Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities• Resolve on-site issues and emergencies (in-conjunction with Project/Construction Manager)• Attend team, owner/client and sub-contractor meetings, as needed• Report and escalate issues and concerns as needed to management• Manage and maintain comprehensive project documentation• Ensure self-oriented time management and project leadership
