Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current and projected traffic conditions to identify areas of improvement and plan effective solutions.
- Conduct detailed studies to assess the impact of proposed developments on traffic patterns.
- Design and draft highway alignment layouts.
- Measure and analyze vehicular speeds to evaluate roadway safety and functionality.
- Design roadways that accommodate all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, and transit riders.
- Prepare and submit applications for highway permits in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and analyze transportation models for corridors to evaluate capacity, traffic flow, and potential improvements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for transportation and highway construction projects.
- Collaborating with team to support services for large, multi-disciplinary civil/site projects.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT registration preferred
- Intermediate skills in AutoCAD, MicroStation and Synchro preferred
- Experience with construction and/or land surveying is a plus
- Experience with MassDOT
