Description
Assess current overhead and underground distribution and/or transmission systems and make recommendations, design changes as necessary. Candidates will be responsible for providing project management support, estimating, design support, coordinating with drafters and client specific needs on Distribution systems for maintenance upgrade and new build projects as well as possibly support electrical load calculations. Individual would needs to understand load tolerances, calculations and structural capacity, pole/load calculations. Supporting and permitting responsibility related to overhead/aerial distribution utility construction.
Current programs will be supporting PGE's fire mitigation programs and reconductor projects. Focusing on vegetation management design and equipment/pole replacements for an aging infrastructure.
Skills & Qualifications
-1-3+ years of drafting, design, or engineering related experience or utility construction related experience.
- Engineering degree or construction degree preferred but not required
-Must have strong computer skills and ability to navigate different computer screens and folders efficiently
-Proficient with MS office suite and background or prior experience with design or modeling software is desired (AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, Maximo, pole loading software, O-calc, PoleForeman, etc.)
-Strong communication skills and ability to work independently while seeking out support and taking initiative on asking for help is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
