We have an opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician supporting the production of cutting-edge electrical / mechanical sensors. You will collaborate with multiple organizational functions, including Design Engineering, Program Office, Operations, and Quality Engineering, to ensure seamless production flow and prevent any potential holds. As a key player in this highly collaborative environment, you will work in harmony with other manufacturing engineers, providing essential support to their tasks and contributing to the team's overall success. We seek an individual who excels in a fast-paced setting, is adept at balancing responsibilities, and is able to accept guidance and direction from senior engineers . WHAT YOU WILL DO:

DOCUMENTATION MANAGEMENT AND UPDATES

  • Complete manufacturing documentation and ensure timely updates for the production support team.

  • Manage the backlog of markups to ensure updates are completed within a 90-day timeline.

  • Create new document versions using Microsoft Word and coordinate with the technical writing group.

  • Execute engineering change orders to update documents in the company Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.

  • Collaborate with production personnel to ensure documentation accuracy.

NON-CONFORMANCE RESOLUTION

  • Assist in resolving material and product non-conformance issues.

  • Disposition and close out quality notifications (QNs) when escalated to the engineering group.

  • C lear incoming material from the Material Review Board (MRB) and complete tasks assigned to manufacturing engineering.

  • Support investigations of customer-returned non-conformances.

TOOLING DEVELOPMENT

  • Develop tooling for production improvements or engineering initiatives.

  • Create 3D models of tools in Creo and produce prints for tooling.

  • Source tools from external vendors.

  • Release tooling in the PLM system and deploy it to production.

TRAINING AND BACKUP SUPPORT

  • Act as the designated trainer and backup for production technicians.

  • Provide backup support for product lines across the entire group when needed.

  • Serve as a focal point for training new technicians .

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND DEPLOYMENT

  • Assist in the development, deployment, and upkeep of equipment as directed by engineering.

  • Support in testing, researching, and evaluating new equipment opportunities.

  • Complete tasks and forms related to equipment deployment to production.

  • Assist in the regular maintenance of equipment and test systems, including tooling development, creating program files, and coordinating maintenance where engineering support is needed.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

  • 6+ years of experience as manufacturing engineering technician.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting the production of electrical/mechanical components .

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) navigation and usage. Proficiency should include creating, editing, and troubleshooting files in these programs.

  • Proficiency in SAP usage/navigation. Comfortable doing QN work with Collins-developed programs and in SAP.

  • Proficiency in TeamCenter usage/navigation. Able to navigate and search for items of need. Able to carry out change orders to update and release items in TeamCenter .

  • Simple CAD modeling/drawing work in Pr oE /C reo

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.

  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.

  • Ability to remain focused under pressure to assess and resolve challenges.

The salary range for this role is 50,000 USD - 100,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
