Senior Cloud Engineer / Architect

Kforce's client in Melville, NY is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect who will support Migration from VMware Environment to OpenShift.* VMware Expertise: In-depth knowledge of VMware infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter, and related management tools

• OpenShift Proficiency: Thorough understanding of OpenShift architecture, deployment, and management
• Containerization: Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with OpenShift
• Networking: Strong grasp of network protocols, configuration, and security within virtualized and containerized environments
• Storage Solutions: Knowledge of storage technologies and their integration with both VMware and OpenShift
• Security: Expertise in implementing security best practices in both VMware and OpenShift environments
• Migration Planning: Ability to develop detailed migration plans, including risk assessment, timelines, and resource allocation
• Data Migration: Experience in migrating data from VMware to OpenShift with minimal downtime and data loss
• Application Refactoring: Knowledge of refactoring applications to run efficiently in containerized environments
• Automation: Proficiency in using automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for migration tasks
• Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during migration
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders and report progress
• Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers throughout the migration process
• Project Management: Strong project management skills to ensure the migration is completed on time and within budget
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and unforeseen challenges during the migration
