**Requisition Details:**
We are looking for a Senior Architect with a strong background in healthcare provider technologies to lead a major application modernization and migration initiative. This strategic program involves upgrading the technical stack (OS, middleware, databases), upgrading applications and enabling cloud adoption for targeted workloads.
You will play a key role in designing modernization strategies, assessing application readiness, and guiding application, infrastructure and deployment teams through implementationwhile ensuring compliance with healthcare-specific security and interoperability requirements.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead architectural planning for application modernization across clinical and business systems within the provider ecosystem.
+ Assess current-state application portfolios and define upgrade paths for operating systems, databases, and middleware platforms.
+ Design end-to-end migration strategies for moving applications to new data centers or to cloud environments (IaaS/PaaS).
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, Integration, security, clinical IT) to ensure aligned execution.
+ Define cloud migration patterns (lift-and-shift, refactor, replatform) and oversee their implementation.
+ Establish architecture standards and patterns for modernization, integration, and high availability.
+ Ensure all architectures are compliant with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare regulations.
+ Provide hands-on architectural guidance and governance throughout the migration lifecycle.
+ Support risk management and disaster recovery planning during the transition.
+ Serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business/clinical stakeholders.
**Required Qualifications** :
+ Associates or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
+ 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 3 years in healthcare provider environments.
+ Experience modernizing legacy applications and leading large-scale migrations to cloud and/or new data centers.
+ Strong knowledge of infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage), OS upgrades, and virtualization platforms.
+ Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
**Strongly Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Experience in hybrid cloud strategies and legacy-to-modern application transformation.
+ Familiarity with one or more cloud platforms ( Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architecture principles.
+ Deep understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy in healthcare (HIPAA, HITRUST).
+ Certifications such as TOGAF, GCP/Azure Architect preferred
+ Working knowledge of healthcare integration standards (HL7, FHIR) and supporting infrastructure.
+ Fully remote, will work normal CST hours
