Small Engine & Equipment Mechanic Location: Laurel, MD | Industry: Commercial Roofing Pay: $25.00- $28.00 /hr. | Full Benefits Are you mechanically inclined and take pride in keeping equipment running at its best? This role is critical in ensuring all field equipment is safe, operational, and job-ready through preventative maintenance and timely repairs . What You'll Be Doing Perform preventative maintenance and repair on a wide range of small engines and light equipment Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in roofing-related tools Maintain and service equipment including: Generators Hot Air Welders (e.g., Leister) Air Compressors Lifts, Hoists, Winches Hand tools and roof-specific machines Adjust, replace, and rebuild engine components and tool parts as needed Keep detailed service records and logs Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently before deployment to job sites Communicate with the warehouse and field teams to support project readiness Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area What We're Looking For Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in learning Previous experience with small engine repair or construction equipment maintenance - highly preferred Ability to diagnose, problem-solve , and work hands-on Responsible, reliable, and able to manage tasks independently Able to lift and move heavy equipment as needed Professional demeanor with good communication skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Familiarity with tools and equipment used in the roofing or construction industry - highly preferred What's In It for You Competitive pay based on experience Paid training and mentorship from industry experts Full health and dental benefits Paid time off and holidays Career path with opportunities for advancement within the company If you're passionate about hands-on work and want to be part of a company that values your skills and commitment, apply today and help keep roofing crews powered, safe, and efficient!
