GENERAL SUMMARY:

As a member of the Knowledge and Innovation Department (K&I), the Innovation Architect will help drive K&I's efforts to implement solutions that help lawyers work more efficiently and deliver better client services. The Innovation Architect will work closely with K&I Attorneys, the Practice & Client Solutions team and other stakeholders to build applications through low-code and traditional development and integrate those applications with firm systems and data sources. These applications will serve the firm's knowledge-sharing, artificial intelligence and technology efforts, both internally and externally with clients.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with K&I team members to understand firm and client needs, and design technology and data-driven solutions to fulfill those needs.

Build, test and deploy applications using low-code platforms, including client portals and automated documents.

Own a portfolio of innovation solutions and be responsible for maintaining those solutions to meet firm requirements.

Liaise with Information Systems on integrating innovation solutions with internal firm systems.

Draft and maintain documentation including end-user guides and training materials, along with instructions for system administrators.

Communicate innovative ideas to a variety of stakeholders, including lawyers, Information Systems and other business professionals.

Organize and lead exploratory meetings, requirement gathering and design sessions with firm stakeholders.

Deliver demonstrations and training on firm solutions to lawyers, business professionals and clients.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for innovation solutions.

Monitor and report on usage and adoption of innovation solutions.

Ensure the quality and usability of innovation solutions adheres to department standards.

Stay current on new legal technologies by reviewing daily news feeds on new products and peer firm initiatives. Report out to the team any new information relevant to current work or goals.

Participate in research, evaluation and testing of new legal technologies.

Complete other projects as assigned by members of the K&I team.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Competencies

At least 3 years of experience in knowledge management, innovation or legal engineering, preferably with a law firm or legal technology company.

Proficient in building solutions with low code platforms and extending the native features of those platforms through HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Experience developing with JavaScript libraries such as D3, jQuery, React or similar.

Comfortable incorporating web development frameworks, APIs and databases into development work.

Experience authoring documents with one or more industry-standard document automation tools.

Advanced analytical, problem-solving and design skills, with attention to detail and quality.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills and ability to work effectively with different functions at the firm.

Highly developed organizational and time management abilities.

Self-starter with a high degree of professionalism, sound judgment, attention to detail and client service orientation.

Strong sense of urgency and professional dedication.

Ability to quickly master new applications and technologies.

Adept at leveraging generative AI as a tool to improve work efficiency and quality.

Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours as required.

WORK REQUIREMENTS:

This is a hybrid role which requires in-office attendance in accordance with the schedule set forth by the department. A hybrid schedule is an essential function of this role.

Salary: $110,000 - $145,000. Paul, Weiss offers competitive compensation and benefits packages. The firm considers a number of factors when determining compensation, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, levels of experience, competency levels and other relevant skills and qualifications.
