Engineering Technician

Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to fill our engineering technician role.

The engineering technician stakes lines and services in accordance with requirements from RUS, National Electrical Safety Code and the National Electric Code. This includes staking for all line construction, conversion, relocation, new services and service rebuilds for the Cooperative. The engineering technician also utilizes electronic staking software, on a daily basis, to produce work orders.

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two-year degree in applicable engineering/technical field or certificate of completion of a comprehensive staking technician program preferred. Four years of progressively responsible experience in electric distribution construction and maintenance or the same period in electric field engineering is preferred. Working knowledge of GIS mapping software a plus. Must have valid drivers license. A pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check are a required condition of employment.
