Siemens Digital Industries Software (DI SW) business segments are on an explosive journey of adding Artificial Intelligence offerings to its broad & diverse product portfolio targeted to improve the value proposition and efficiency of our customers.

A central "Data & AI Program" has been established to coordinate, drive & support multitude of AI Initiatives. We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to be part of this critical program and take on the role of a Principal Software Engineer / Architect reporting to the Global AI Program Manager.

This is a cross-segment AI Program level role, requiring extreme collaborative engagement across all the DI SW Segments & Product Lines, GS&CS, Partnership team, Legal and various other functions. It will also include collaborating with broader Siemens Business at DI, FT and IT.

Responsibilities:

  • Joint definition, alignment & governance for architecture elements of various AI product offerings with DI SW technical leaders across business segment and T&I
  • Stay on top of dynamically evolving AI technology landscape & apply learnings and adoption into product architecture definition & governance
  • Collaborate & Support Segment Product teams for realization of AI offerings
  • Coordinate & Drive identification and rationalization of AI technology synergies across segment product teams, to minimize and eliminate duplication
  • Coordinate and provide support, guidance, scoping, planning & execution of proof-of-concepts as required
  • Own & Drive updating technology content of cross-business Inventory of all AI capabilities
  • Coordinate technical support to sales, pre-sales & services in partnership with business segments
  • Support technical interactions & engagement with Partners (e.g. hyperscalers such as AWS, Microsoft)
  • Act as the DI SW Technical Representative on the ONE Tech Data & AI Track and help Influence the technology services direction to the needs of DI SW product teams

Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong architectural background
  • Strong technical understanding & hands-on experience in technology concepts such as Cloud, multi-tier distributed architecture, enterprise software, SaaS and AI
  • Ability to work autonomously on multiple highly sophisticated projects simultaneously
  • Able to connect and collaboratively work across multiple teams
  • Able to optimally connect with senior management and corporate level customers
  • Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and interaction skills

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM discipline supplemented with real world programming & architecture experience
  • 15+ years - Software Development and Design Engineering experience
  • 10+ years - Defining complex software architectures
  • 5+ years of Experience in developing and implementing Microservices
  • 5+ years Proficiency in developing and deploying cloud-based solutions leveraging at-least one of the hyper- scalers (AWS, Azure, others), Containerization, DevOps
  • 5+ years Cross Organization engagement & Ability to interface with internal and external customers of varying technical abilities (Development, Sales, Services, Partners, etc.)

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

  • Understanding of evolving AI technologies - Generative, LLMs, RAG, Agents, Agent Frameworks
  • Understanding and experience of modern enterprise data & integration architectural patterns
  • Working knowledge & experience in some of PLM, ALM, MBSE, EDA, MOM software
  • Deep industrial knowledge and experience in one or more sectors; Enterprise / IT, PLM, OT

The salary range for this position is $151,300 to $272,400 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
