Installing, servicing and repairing manufacturing machines and equipment
Responsibilities:
Repairs and maintains mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment and machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, maintenance manuals, specifications from the manufacturer.
Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision - measuring and testing instruments. Know the proper usage of advanced measurement tools such as torque wrenches, calipers, etc.
Repair and install all lubricating equipment, including air regulators, filters, cylinders, solenoid valves, and oil transfer pumps.
Complete proper installation of shafts, sprockets, pulleys, gears, and bearings. Repair and maintain machinery. Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking equipment to make and repair parts. Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Work with blueprints and schematics to set up systems, and demonstrate understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits. Perform most of the troubleshooting and all of the repair of corresponding systems.
Perform most welding jobs and minor fabrication from blueprints, if necessary.
Know how to perform basic carpentry tasks such as rough construction and hanging drywall with good appearance. Know how to install door and window additions
Perform all jobs including bending, cutting, threading, or sealing pipe, and the finished job is square and plumb.
Run conduit, pull wire, and maintain control cabinets for machines. Maintain and repair electrical systems of the plant using electrical testing meters, hand tools, and power tools. Connect wiring to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, change light bulbs, and perform wire splicing to join circuits. Read all electrical schematics.
Work with the Master Mechanic to perform troubleshooting and repair of PLC, CNC, machine center, and other automated equipment.
Operate forklift, scissor lift, and bucket lift.
