The MP&L Supplier Base Readiness Supervisor position is crucial in overseeing global supplier manufacturing readiness from a supply chain logistics perspective and ensuring successful launches at North American plants.
In this role
You will leverage your strategic thinking, effective leadership, and past launch experience in managing multiple launches simultaneously across various plants and suppliers. In addition to launch readiness, you will also execute the new Q1 / Materials Management Operations Guideline 4th edition supplier compliance process, working closely with Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) organization and Resourcing supplier readiness for new sites.
RESPONSIBILITIESWhat you'll do...
- Lead and manage a team of 9-10 GSRs to drive supplier launch readiness and ensure successful, flawless launches.
- Oversee the evaluation of suppliers for Ford Plants, including capacity uplifts and shift additions.
- Provide escalation support to team members, ensuring issues are addressed and resolved before MP2 begins.
- Collaborate with STA and Purchasing teams to ensure timely escalation and resolution of supplier noncompliance issues related to launch readiness.
- Provide onsite MP&L support, guidance, education, and training for suppliers facing challenges.
- Work closely with Purchasing on sourcing and resourcing decisions.
- Oversee Ford supplier engagement and ensure Q1-MMOG compliance prior to J1.
- Offer emergency onsite support to current production, including reviews and extended MP&L assistance.
- Partner with STA and Purchasing to drive performance improvements for distressed suppliers.
- Identify opportunities for cost improvements during supplier onsite reviews and implement necessary changes.
- Address any issues related to SUPER-G and collaborate with the SUPER-G IT and Global SMRT teams to drive improvements.
- Develop and establish standardized processes and work procedures to optimize efficiency.
- Travel up to 30% for suppliers & plant visits and in some cases, over multiple days
You'll have...
- Bachelors degree in engineering or business
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in supply chain operations within automotive manufacturing (supplier release, packaging, logistics, follow-up, material flow etc.)
- Experience/understanding of EDI, Forward Model milestones, and supply chain systems required.
- Functional understanding of overall Material Planning & Logistics business practices and supporting systems.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to lead and participate in cross-functional forums.
- Strong leadership behaviors, with a systemic process-oriented mindset.
- Strong supply chain, supplier performance, and/or plant experience preferred
- Prior manufacturing or plant experience in planning, scheduling, or on-floor activities preferred.

- Master's degree in business / engineering (preferably Mechanical, Industrial)
- Strong Data Analytical Skills to gather data from multiple sources to identify root causes, trends & insights and recommend operational improvements on Supplier Delivery Performance
- Operational experience with CMMS (Common Material Management System), ASCENT, Q1/MMOG, SAP preferred
- Strong story telling capabilities with data to enable data driven decision making benefiting the Organization
- Knowledge in Data Analytics tools like Alteryx, Tableau or Qlik Sense
