Job Title: Environmental Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager with over seven years of experience to support our growing environmental site investigation, due diligence, remediation, and compliance practice in the Metro Detroit area. This role is perfect for a seasoned environmental consulting professional with a passion for technical excellence and building strong client relationships. As an Environmental Project Manager, you will work with a team of dedicated professionals, successfully executing all aspects of projects under the guidance of a company Principal. You will represent the company during proposal, contract, and project performance phases, manage day-to-day technical and financial aspects of projects, engage in marketing activities and networking events, and mentor junior staff. The role offers ownership opportunities, participation in profit sharing, and potential advancement to principal levels.
Responsibilities
- Manage project teams, delegate tasks to office and field staff, and execute daily project activities.
- Handle project contractual and financial issues, including terms of agreement, scope changes, and billing processes.
- Mentor existing project-level scientists and engineers.
- Monitor team performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and budgets.
- Conduct site compliance inspections.
- Prepare proposals and review/write environmental reports with Principal guidance.
- Conduct and review technical analyses and calculations.
- Participate in meetings and consult with agencies.
- Facilitate internal and client communications.
- Provide business development support.
- Assist on projects and tasks outside of primary responsibilities as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in remediation, site assessment, project management, and environmental science.
- Proficiency in Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and environmental site investigations.
- Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and applicable Federal and Michigan laws and regulations, such as CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, Michigan Part 111/115, Part 201, Part 213.
- Understanding of field sampling and investigative protocols.
- Knowledge of contaminants fate and transport in subsurface and experience in conceptual site model development.
- Experience with database management and GIS.
- Skill in statistical data review.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in preparing technically sound reports.
- Completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
- Professional registration such as PE/PG/LSRP is strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geological/Hydrogeology, or Environmental Sciences (advanced degree is a plus).
- Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain strong and consistent outreach to clients.
- Experience at consulting engineering firms and in adjacent states is beneficial.
Work Environment
This role offers flexible work hours, with the possibility of hybrid work arrangements as needed. Work will be divided between the office and various customer sites, including manufacturing facilities and construction sites. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
