Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $16 - $16 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Painter:

  • Surface Preparation:
  • Inspect surfaces to determine the necessary preparation (e.g., cleaning, scraping, sanding, power washing, drywall repair, patching, filling cracks and holes with spackle, plaster, or caulk)
  • Remove old paint, wallpaper, or other finishes as required
  • Protect adjacent areas, furniture, and fixtures by covering them with drop cloths, plastic sheeting, and masking tape
  • Clean and prime surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and a smooth finish
  • Paint Mixing and Application:
  • Select and mix paints, stains, and other finishes to achieve desired colors, textures, and consistencies, often matching existing colors
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other coatings using a variety of tools, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and specialized equipment
  • Apply multiple coats as needed, ensuring even coverage and a high-quality finish
  • Perform touch-ups and detail work as required
  • Equipment and Site Maintenance:
  • Set up and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and other access equipment safely
  • Clean and maintain all painting tools and equipment (brushes, rollers, spray guns, etc.) to ensure longevity and proper function
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards during and after painting
  • Properly dispose of paint, solvents, and other waste materials according to environmental regulations

Job requirements:

  • Proven experience as a painter in a residential, commercial, or industrial setting
  • Solid knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment
  • Familiarity with surface preparation methods, including drywall repair and patching
  • Ability to mix and match paint colors accurately
  • Proficiency in using various painting tools (brushes, rollers, sprayers)
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to painting
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods
  • Good balance and ability to work at heights (e.g., on scaffolding or ladders)
