Functions: SUMMARY: The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for
supporting the development and enhancement of our product lines.
Assisting in tasks related to large multi-team engineering development
projects to enhance the capabilities of our industrial doors. Executing
and documenting Engineering Change Orders. \* Provide engineering
support for new product development projects. \* Interface with Product
Group leader and Project manager as well as ECO liaison as well as other
project team members to enhance existing products. \* Design solutions
that meet the specific needs or directives outlined in Engineering
Change requests. \* Create and maintain bills of material and
engineering drawing sets. \* Work with vendors to facilitate
communication and product development. \* Write test plans and quality
documents. \* Ability to generate manufacturing-ready designs, including
a proven ability to work with factory personnel to ensure capabilities
alignment. \* Engineering analysis. Safety is the most important part of
all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate
the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices,
procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum
Qualifications: \* Working knowledge of solid modeling, using Solid
Works. \* Strong drafting ability including a working knowledge of
various dimensional call outs and symbols. \* Experience performing
stress analysis. \* Ability to read and interpret complex documents as
well as blueprints and work instructions. \* High level of mechanical
aptitude along with fundamental understanding of electrical. \* An
understanding of materials and their relative properties as it relates
to engineering. \* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general
business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers,
and/or the general public. \* Ability to apply advanced mathematical
concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and
permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as
frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity,
analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and
factor analysis. \* Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific
thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability
to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations,
graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to
