What You Will Do:

The Military Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Project team is looking for a highly motivated individual for the position of DTRI/Project Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team focused on sustainment of Pratt & Whitney F135, F119, and F100/OME engines to identify required repairs, evaluate their cost effectiveness, develop repair task work scopes, manage task schedule and identify and mitigate risks.

  • Develop technical task work scopes and create proposals for new task recommendations using Repair Assessment Work Sheet (RAW) and Cost Effectivity Analysis (CEA) as required
  • Engage with outside departments (CSE, HSE, EDSI, etc.) to ensure alignment between ASE's repair tasks/proposals and external-departmental tasks
  • Receive Program requirements and priorities, from the Programs team, to ensure tasks are worked in the right order and meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Work with Repair Design Engineers, and all disciplines (Structures, MPE, CAIPT/CIPT etc.), to address any roadblocks that may be delaying task progression
  • Ensure all task risks and mitigation plans, which include technical, financial and schedule, are communicated timely to all stakeholders and tracked to completion
  • Develop and manage L3 task schedules and execute repair activity to committed timelines
  • Lead weekly module level reviews that identify current status, next steps, risks to schedule and mitigation plans
  • Prepare and present at Senior Management repair status meetings to update progress against plan and commitments

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years of engineering experience with an advanced degree
  • US citizenship is required due to government program requirements'
  • 10% Travel
  • Onsite at East Hartford, CT or OKC, OK

Qualifications You We Prefer:

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and management
  • Demonstrated experience managing schedules with the ability to drive projects to successful completion
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and risk management skills
  • Experience as a Repair Development Engineer or in another role related to military engine sustainment

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
