Position: Site Manager With Heat Treat Experience

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM)

Compensation: Salary 80-90K DOE

The Maintenance Site Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily maintenance operations at a designated facility or site. This role leads a team of maintenance professionals to ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of all equipment, machinery, and systems-including heat treatment processes.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing effective maintenance strategies, managing budgets, conducting daily safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Site Manager will also handle interviewing, hiring, terminations, employee evaluations, and maintain clear, professional communication with customers.

Success in this role requires 3-5 years of leadership experience, strong technical knowledge (including heat treatment), the confidence to speak in front of groups, experience with invoicing and administrative tasks, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement to keep the site running efficiently.

  • Safety and Compliance: Deep understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring all maintenance activities are conducted under regulatory standards.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to handle multiple tasks and oversee maintenance projects from planning to execution.
  • Budget Management: Experience managing maintenance budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to efficiently identify and address mechanical, electrical, and HVAC issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively reporting to senior management and coordinating with other departments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proficient in driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to enhance site efficiency and reduce downtime.

Key Deliverables:

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations for the site, ensuring all equipment, machinery, and systems are fully functional and operating efficiently.
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high maintenance and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and strategies to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational standards, and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, engineering, and procurement) to coordinate maintenance activities and support production schedules.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively and maintenance costs are kept within budget.
  • Oversee the coordination of external contractors or vendors for specialized maintenance tasks or equipment repairs.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to improve equipment uptime and reduce failure rates.
  • Ensure that all maintenance records are current and comply with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance operations and reduce operational disruptions.
  • Manage emergency repairs and troubleshooting, ensuring prompt resolution of critical issues to avoid production downtime.
  • Prepare and present regular maintenance performance reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the timely procurement and management of spare parts and materials, optimizing inventory levels to avoid production delays.
  • Implement safety initiatives, ensuring the maintenance team follows established safety protocols and reports unsafe conditions.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and proactive maintenance among staff.

Requirements

Key qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years in maintenance management (including heat treat), with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Experience with CMMS, budget management, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

The ideal candidate will also bring experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, advanced maintenance strategies, and a commitment to fostering a proactive, safety-focused maintenance culture.
